Sooo Today is Free Assessment Friday, how fun.
Ms. Burton calls it controlled chaos but I'm sure you can see on her twitter feed, photo albums and video rolls that it isn't really all that controlled.
First of all even though its isn't first, Ms. Burton told Taylier to create a Smore. Smores usually consist of ya know, the regular stuff.. graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate but Ms. Burton just brought Taylier a computer. I don't even think she's too sure of what she's doing. What???
Okay Ms Burton. Okay.
So Taylier is making a ... smore.
Stacy is sitting on the desk snapping pictures of people.
Coley is recording random stuff.. because that's what he was told to do.
Sabrina is tweeting stuff about Ivory applying for the ACT-
I think Coley was trying to record me sneezing or the aftermath of the sneeze, HOW ATTRACTIVE.
Destiny just needs to give up. - SABRINA DOESN'T WANT YOU ANYMORE. AND I AM THE GODMOTHER NOT DONQUEL.
Shiloh and them are acting out something I'm not even sure of and Danny is standing there looking as lost as Waldo, ya know if we could actually see Waldo.
Stacy is taking selfies. Your selfie game is on point Stacy.
Sorry, Danny isn't lost, I asked him what he was doing and he said he was making a skit, Aren't we all Danny.
Brittany, Donquel, and Govianna are making memes. Who doesn't like memes, they are HILARIOUS.
Delmy came to class late.
Miguel looks like he's about to go to sleep. Do something Miguel. Make something of your life.
Savannah is just doing so much for the class by listening to her music. -SARCASM-
Coley is taking a picture of Ms. Burton
I wonder what Jessicas doing, she's on the other side of Sabrina and I'm too lazy to lean over, so I guess we'll never know what Jessicas doing.
I love listening in on peoples conversations, honestly. Raynika just sounded like a dying monkey.
EWWWWWWW Taylier just sneezed all over the computer. And she bit her tongue. LOLOLOLOLOL.
Haha Taylier, you deserve that for saying my hair looks like it was a monkey nest.
Here comes Bullet. I'm not even gonna write down anything that he says because well it's Bullet and Bullet always has some interesting stories that I don't even feel like repeating.
Ms. Burton said that Ivory is upstairs hooking up with ???  WOAH IVORY # Rude Awakening
Alright so my brain hurts because I've been eavesdropping too much and my ears have been open and my ears hurt so I'm done for the day.
Happy Friday.
Ivory just threatened to throw a water bottle at Bullet, no surprise there.
Alright seriously I'm done this time.

Fishbowl Feedback

Alexis speak upon image number 1: she says that she believe that your identification can't be changed no matter where you are and that the fingerprint represents how the mother got out of china.

Nathaniel believes that a finger represents someone's story. Each fingerprint is different and no one is the same and that also reflects on the story of each persons life

Huy believes that the fingerprints represents how different the mothers and the daughters and how their views are different

I shared that I disagreed with Huy because throughout the film you come to find the each daughter in some way or another are just like their mother.

Kiana shared that fingerprints in all reality don't look that different because they are all round.

Nathaniel says that image two represents the pride one has in their county.

Shiloh says the flag represents the new life each mother expected when coming to the new land. But in all reality they still had problems.

Odina says it represents the new life they want for their children and the wanting for all of their problems to go away.p. Savannah agrees with odina.

Joviana says that their problems never went away cause the same problems reflected in their mothers.

Raenika believes it represents opportunity.

Day 2 of Fishbowl Feedback:

Jacob shared that he believes that the image of the ice cream represents the sweet but cold relationship each daughter has with their mother.

Raenikka shares the fact the in the image the ice cream is/melting she says that this relates to the film because it shows how fast something can change and how fast the realign ships through out the film changed.

Jacob says that the ice cream represents the family and the chocolate chips are the daughter. He went onto to explaining it more in depth but I can't really put it into words as he did.

Odina said the ice cream was a symbol for unfairness because in the movie the daughter had to pay half for her husbands ice cream even though she didn't eat it, this shows that even though the marriage was supposed to be "fair" it's not because the wife is actually getting the short end of the stick.

Ms B's Notes

Image 1
-Alexis: "identification you cant be change, your identification cant be change"
-: Nathaniel "Everybodys story, each fingerprint is unique and none is the same, and each persons story isunique and none ofthem are the same"
-Huy: "The finger print because there's no 2 finger prints that look exactly alike, each person have a way of thinking that is not like others', even though they are mothers and daughters. This picture related to the text's detail which is the daughter disagreeing with their mothers because the mothers make they do things that the mothers think are best for them."
-Sabrina:"i think that the finger prints represent the similarity instead ofthe differences"
-Kiana:"The fingerPrint form inside the mother so they cant escape the connection that they have with their mother."

-Image 2
-Nathaniel: the picture show the American pride that the daughter's had in the movie
-Shiloh: They expect a better life than they have in China, but their life in the U.S. is truely better but they now have different problems."
-Odina, Sav: "They looked for freedom, for a better life for the children that they will eventually have."
-Krystyn:"They are trying to escape the problem that they have in China by coming to the U.S."
-Ranika: "the flag represent freedom and hope, and opportunity that they seek for their daughters as they come to America."

-Image 3:
-Quelly: They are not facing each other, so they have conflicts with each other, but they are still conncected with each other
-Ranika: "the artist purposely highlighted the skin of the younger one for a reason, showing the clear distinction, the old person is faded into the background because her view is faded away"
-Krystyn: "they are both connect, the younger one is highlighted because it's their time"
-Kiana:"I agree with the daughter"

-Image 4
-Quelly: "They are splitting stuff, even though they are a couple"
-Jacob:"The mother is cold because the ice cream is cold"
-Miguel: "Ice cream is sweet, and so is the mother"
-Ranika:"ice cream melt, it change to something else, like the relationship in the movie"
-Huy:"The mothers are like the ice cream, which melt away eventually and does not last forever"

Best Visual Before:
-I picked picture 1, the finger print because there's no 2 finger prints that look exactly alike, each person have a way of thinking that is not like others', even though they are mothers and daughters. This picture related to the text's detail which is the daughter disagreeing with their mothers because the mothers make they do things that the mothers think are best for them.

Best Visual After:
   - I am still picking picture 1, because it best represent the movie.

Joy Luck Club Notes  9.17.2014

Summary

Joy Luck Club is about 4 dufferent mother and daughter stories that led them to where they are and what made them what they are today; how they overcame obstacles in life and how overcoming them obstacles made them stronger women. The name of the Joy Luck Club came from a game that the mothers used to play together, and while they were playing the game they felt joy and forgot about all of the problems in their lives. The Luck part comes from how lucky they felt when they won the game.

1.The first image is important to the Joy Luck Club because its a fingerprint and fingerprints are used to identify people. The Joy Luck Club is about learning who you truly are and where it was you came from.

2. The second image is important because its the American Flag and in the Joy Luck Club, most of the women either moved to America or married an American man.

3. I feel as if the third image would be symbolic because it appears to be a picture of a young asian girl and an older asian woman.  They are not facing each other. It could be a mom and daughter duo which is basically all Joy Luck Club is about.

4. The ice cream is about the couple in the movie that likes to split everything and how they got in an argument over ice cream.

Best Visual Representation ( Before )

* I believe that the best visual representation would probably be the ice cream because once you really think it through you realize that the picture is symbolizing exactly what happened in the movie.

The Joy Luck Club

Sabrina G.
.Joy luck club is about 4 different mothers and daughter and their stories that explain what led them to be the way they are. The name the joy luck club comes from a game that the mothers used to play together, while playing the game they felt joy and forgot about all of their problems, and the luck part is the luck in winning the game.

The first image is important to the joy luck club because a fingerprint is used to identify someone and the movie is all about knowing who you are and remembering where you come from. Each mother tried to always remind their daughter about their Chinese heritage and the fact the no matter what it will be part of their identity.

The second image is important to the movie because it resembles the American dream that each mother had for themselves and for their daughters. Although they always remembered their lives in china and followed their ways, they raised their daughters in an American environment.

The third image is important to the movies because it resembles the mother and the daughter and how similar they are to one another. The daughters no matter how much they tried to be different from their mothers, in one way or another, they all were the same. Something about their mothers lived in each one if them .

The fourth image reflects back on a seen in the movie where Rose's mother felt uncomfortable in her own daughters house because Rose and her husband lived a fair life. They each payed half for everything bought in the home. She even payed half for ice cream she didn't eat.

I think that image three was the best resent action of the movies
